There are a few unique traits about this site.

One is the twitter feed at the top of the page. For every tweet that HYR makes, it is broadcasted here, and the speech bubble expands and contracts to fit the message.

The ability to tweet new updates to the website has been included in the site as well.

There is also an event feed on the sidebar that displays the upcoming events going on.

We also added a news feed that will update the readers with current political news every 30 min.

All in all, I’m pretty pleased with the outcome of this site. Take a look at it when you get a chance. www.houstonyr.com

envyTHEreturn had a show at Scout Bar in Houston and asked if I could help produce some fliers for them to promote the show. Here is the result.

Tacos A GoGo

Tacos A GoGo is a neat little place that serves some of the best tacos on Main st. in Houston, Tx. Tacos A GoGo needed a revamp on their website and I was glad to help. They needed something that more closely portrayed the atmosphere of their place. After talking over the need to be able to change to content and to be able to upload and add pictures of events and people at their place, we decided best to build the site with a Content Management System (CMS) in the back.

Sharon, over there, sent me a sketch of what she would like the website to look like. She said that she wanted frames made of lights to cover three pictures, and that she wanted to use a special font for everything else.

We took this sketch, designed a layout, and then upon approval created the website. It has static links in the footer, as well a box for displaying the most recent “Tweet” from Tacos A GoGo’s twitter (twitter.com/tacosagogo). The home page also has a rotating image box for whatever images they want.

Three Four Seven Designs

Three Four Seven, is an excellent design company. They wanted a website that allows them to showcase their portfolio in a dynamic way. So we created a content management system that would allow them to load up whatever design they wanted to. There is also a featured section for those special designs, as well as the ability to break the designs up into separate categories. Check them out at www.ThreeFourSeven.com

G1 Android Update

I just recently updated my phone with new Android software update, and let me say that in quick review, I’m impressed. Without delving in and looking at every application and it’s effects on them, I know that a few bugs have been fixed, Voice search has been added, and Google’s Latitude was added to the maps app.

As far as the Voice search, with one click on the microphone, google will ask if you would like your results to be location based. Then, all you have to do is speak into the microphone and it will analyze your speech and bring you back results. It seems to be pretty intuitive and not screw up with words that don’t even make sense.

Google has launched a new product called Latitude that allows you to share your location with friends and for you see the location of others. With the new update, Latitude is now added to the Maps application for the ability to pinpoint the location of yourself and friends that you are following.

I’m excited to finally see an update of significance. I’m still patiently waiting for the Cupcake 1.5 update

Blockcast.net is a local video blog that will feature some of the hottest events around.

Every week a new place or event is talked about in several different categories. Go here to find out about music events by Mathew Music, going green by Green Girl, local bars by Bar Belle, and more.

The site and logo were designed by a great designer by the name of EVAN ONIEL, and was thought of by a very talented videographer – Joe Litzinger.

The site features a main page with the latest and featured videos, as long as custom pages for each individual category/personality.

Quicksilver

I recently downloaded Quicksilver from BLACKTREE. I was watching a screencast of a developer using it to quickly open a program, so I installed it. This is a very efficient program to be used for all kinds of applications. It features a quick find like searchlight on mac, however, it also searches web history, applications, and many more. You can assign a keyboard shortcut to access the application for fast availability. There are a lot of other features that Quicksilver offers that I am not currently aware of but I plan to learn more about it and see how more productive it will make me.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night. I hope that all of you have a wonderful Christmas and get what you want, including the blessings of being with those you love.

My family tends to do Christmas a little different. This year, we will be going to Dripping Springs, TX on the 26th to celebrate of the 27th. My whole immediate family will meet down there for the celebration. As far as today, we will be at my Girlfriends families house. Looking forward to that craziness!!

This is a website that I designed for a Wellness Provider. This company gives solutions for helping individuals and businesses live healthy lives. They give health benefits for normal medical needs, such as Hospitalization, Prescriptions, etc., but they also give benefits for things that keep you from going to the hospital, things that keep you healthy. They give you benefits for taking vitamins, going to the gym, doing Yoga, and other Naturopathic therapies.

I designed the overall layout of the website along with developing the underlying framework for the Sales People. Each Sales person has their own sub directory which loads the sales person’s contact information. The rest of the site is the same as the corporate site. I’m currently working of v2 using CakePHP as a framework to allow better usability for the sales people, and better understanding of what WIN Association has to offer. Check back soon for the updated version.
